Leaving Italy

Dear Parents,
I am sad to say that our class will be leaving Italy this week and moving on to a new country. As a memory of Italy I have put together a book of photos of the class doing work on Italy. After thanksgiving the children will have the opportunity to take the book home and share it with their families. Please look at the book with your child and have them tell you all about Italy. Then put your thoughts about the book on the pages at the end. The children can not wait to see what you think.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Phillips

Welcome to Italy

Dear Parents,
The children in our class have been working hard on learning about the counrty of Italy. They have made the Italian flag and have studied about the lost city of pompeii. The children have also been doing research in books about Italy to learn more about the land and the people that live there.
As we finish up with Italy we are going to make masks to represent some of the Italian festivals that take place in Italy, as well as masks that are representative of the opera, which is a big part of the Italian culture.
Next week a teacher form the school is going to demonstrate how to make pasta sauce and we are going to have a spaghetii tasting. The children are very excited.
Photos will e posted shortly so you can see the children at work. They have been doing an awesome job. Ask them what they know about Italy. You will be surprised.
sincerely,
Mrs. Phillips

Welcome Parents

Dear Parents,
I am happy to announce that our class is off to a great start with our multicultural project.
We began with finding out a little bit aboutr each others families and why they came to America. The children discovered that even though they are from all over the world most of their families came here for a better education, better jobs and freedom. It was a wonderful learning experience for the class.
We will be starting our project with Italy. I will send an update and some photos shortly.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Phillips
